This album addresses the suffering of girls in North Sinai and presents a collection of stories of underage girls who were subjected to early marriage and physical, psychological, and economic violence by their husbands.
The stories include three girls with the assumed names Khadija, Aisha, and Asma, narrating their suffering from early marriage. However, instead of addressing this harmful phenomenon and taking action to protect the rights of girls and guaranteeing a safe life for them, the authorities arrest them and charge them in political cases instead of providing assistance and protection.
Belady: An Island for Humanity works to reveal the suffering of many Sinai women and girls, through this album which is inspired by the report that will be published on March 18th, 2023, to show the entire world the extent of oppression against women and girls in North Sinai.
