Release Decision of Four Women and One Girl with Precautionary Measures

Cairo Criminal Court, Fourth Circuit, Terrorism, held at the Non-Commissioned Police Officers Institute in Tora, decided in the hearing of Monday, February 14th, 2022 to release five women with precautionary measures pending different cases, as follows:

First: Case No. 620 of 2021, the Supreme State Security.
1- The child / Suhaila Oda Salem
2- Zainab Ahmed Mayouf
3- Asmaa Ismail Ghanem

Second: Case No. 590 of 2021, the Supreme State Security.
4- Mansoura Sabeej Haroun
5- Shaima Ibrahim Ahmed Ahmed

Some information on Case No. 620 of 2021, Supreme State Security.
1: The aforementioned case consist of several defendants, including men, women and children. The number of women included in the case reached eight women and one girl.
2- The State Security Prosecution charged the defendants with several charges,chief among them: joining a terrorist group, which is the persistent charge in almost all political cases.
3- The defendants in this case faced violations, such as:
– Denial of communication with their families, or even with the lawyers assigned to defend them.
– Some defendants were also subjected to assault with insults, beatings, and stripping of clothes inside the the National Security Headquarters.
– Some defendants were also subjected to periods of enforced disappearance, in violation of the provisions of the law.

Some information on Case No. 590 of 2021, Supreme State Security.
1- The aforementioned case consist of several men and women. The number of women included in the case is six.
2- The charges brought against the defendants by the Supreme State Security Prosecution varied between joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.
