“Release order of teacher Fairouz and doctor Basma with precautionary measures pending the case”

following the order of Cairo Criminal Court, third circuit of terrorism, held in Tora’s Non-Commissioned Police Officers, headed by judge Mohamed Hamed to release them with precautionary measures pending the case No. 965 of 2021, Supreme State Security.

1- Ms. Fairouz Kamel Mohamed, 44 years old, is an online English teacher.

2- She was arrested in her house at dawn on 13 November 2021 and her mobile phone and laptop were confiscated for sharing three publications on “Facebook” on topics related to education in Egypt since she’s a teacher.

3- The teacher Fairouz was illegally detained for approximately 11 days between Al Nozha and Heliopolis Police Stations, until she appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on November 24th, 2021, pending the above-mentioned case.

4- The prosecution convicted her of several charges, mainly: Joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and using social media to broadcast false news.

5- Teacher Fairouz remained in pretrial detention pending the case until an order was issued to release her by precautionary measures pending the case.


1- Basma Sabri Suleiman is a doctor in her late twenties.

2- She was arrested on October 24th, 2021 in her house by members of the National Security and her phone and laptop were confiscated, due to an old and closed website on which she used to publish.

3- She was detained for two days inside Al Shawashna Police Station in Fayoum Governorate, and then appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution – on October 26th, 2021 – pending the above-mentioned case.

4- The prosecution convicted her of several accusations, chiefly: Joining a terrorist group, spreading false news, and misusing social media.

5- Doctor Basma remained in pretrial detention pending the case inside Ibshaway Police Station in Fayum and Qanater prison until a decision was issued to release her the day before yesterday.
