As part of its project on press freedom in Egypt, Belady published a research paper titled “When the Government Suppresses Journalism!” This research examines the reasons behind the decline in press freedom indicators and presents the results of media institutions (print and electronic) that have been shutdown from 2013 to 2022. It also provides data on journalists who have been subjected to arrest or imprisonment during the current political regime, with a spotlight on women journalists.
