“Climate Change Will Not Stop When the Silencing of Dissident Voices Continues”
Egypt is currently witnessing a large-scale arrest campaign in the backdrop of calls to demonstrate on Friday, November 11th of this year.
To date, and nearly two weeks before said date, we documented the arrest of ten women and five children, aged between 13 and 17, along with about fifteen others.
The calls for demonstrations began following a campaign by the activist Hossam El Ghamry on his social media pages. He invited people to send videos via his WhatsApp number to announce their support and their willingness to participate in the demonstrations.
In this context, Belady denounces the continuous arrests of women and children following these calls, and Belady especially denounces the persecution and arrest of young children.
