Today, December 23rd, 2021, the political activist Sanaa Seif returns to her home, after an arduous journey that lasted one year and a half. This journey began with her abduction in front of the Public Prosecutors office by the police forces while she was attempting to file a report on the assaults encountered by her and her family in front of Tora prison in an attempt to obtain a letter from her detained brother.
Subsequently, she appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution accused of spreading false news about Covid-19. On March 18th, 2021, the South Cairo Criminal Court decided to imprison her for one year and a half and charged her with spreading false news and insulting a police officer.
