Young Adult Mohamed Shaaban Mahmoud Mutawa:
“I never had an interest in politics. I paticipated in liberation against Muslim Brotherhood on 30 June. Yet, my friend died in Rabaa events”
الشاب محمد شعبان محمود, عمره حالياً 26 سنة, لكن تم القبض عليه في عمر 17 سنة, ومن وقتها وهو محبوس على ذمة القضية رقم 451 لسنة 2014 حصر أمن الدولة العليا, والمعروفة إعلامياً بقضية “كتائب حلوان”.
The young adult Mohamed Shaaban Mahmoud, currently 26 years old, was arrested at the age of 17. Since then, he has been imprisoned pending Case No. 451 of 2014 Supreme State Security, known in the media as the “Helwan Brigades” case.
بعد سنوات من الدراسة في دولة الإمارات, نزل الطفل محمد القاهرة اجازة, وبدأ يتواصل مع اصدقائه القدامى واللي من ضمنهم “عبدالرحمن نادر”, بدأت المناوشات بين الصديقين لما محمد نزل 30 يونيو وصديقه نزل رابعة, كل طفل فيهم بيقول رأيه ويحكي لصاحبه اللي شافه, لكن الصدمة كانت مقتل “عبد الرحمن نادر” اثناء فض اعتصام رابعة, وده سبب شعور كبير بالذنب عند الطفل محمد, ومن هنا قرر محمد بمشاعر واندفاع طفل مراهق إنه ينزل مظاهرات عشان يطالب بحق صاحبه اللي اتقتل لمجرد اختلافه في الرأي.
After years of study in the UAE, the child Mohamed went to Cairo for a vacation. He started communicating with his old friends, among whom was “Abd Al-Rahman Nader”. Clashes between the two friends began when Mohamed went to the 30 June protests, while his friend went to Rabaa protests. Each one of them expressed his opinion and narrated what he saw to the other. The shock was the murder of “Abd Al-Rahman Nader” during the dispersal of the Rabaaa sit-in, which made the child Mohamed feel incredibly guilty, Influenced by the feelings and impulse of a teenage child, Mohamed decided to participate in demonstrations to demand the right of his friend, who was murdered just because of he had a different opinion.
في الوقت ده علاقة الطفل محمد بقت قوية مع “حذيفة نادر” أخو صديقه اللي اتقتل, وفضلوا ينزلوا المظاهرات مع بعض, وحتى بعد رجوع الطفل محمد لدولة الإمارات كان متواصل بشكل مستمر مع حذيفة, وكانوا في كل مرة بيتفقوا انهم هيتقابلوا من تاني أول ما محمد يرجع مصر.
At this time, Mohamed became closer to “Hudhaifah Nader”, the brother of his friend who was murdered, and they went to demonstrations together. Even when Mohamed returned to the UAE, he maintained constant contact with Hudhaifah and they agreed that they would meet again when Mohamed returns to Egypt.
بالفعل نزل الطفل محمد اجازة وقابل حذيفة مرة واحدة, وبعدها رجع الإمارات تاني, لكن الصدمة الكبيرة كانت في شهر مايو 2014 لما عرف بمقتل حذيفة هو كمان على يد قوات الشرطة, وقتها محمد ظهرت عليه مشاعر الحزن بوضوح نتيجة فقد اتنين من أعز أصدقائه.
Indeed, the child Mohamed went on vacation and met Hudhayfa once. Later, he returned to the UAE, but the great shock was in May 2014 when he learned about Hudhayfa’s murder also by the police forces. Mohamed was obviously grieving since he lost two of his best friends.
لكن الصدمة الحقيقية هي إنه مع أول اجازة نزلها الطفل محمد تم اقتحام منزله وتفتيشه, والقبض عليه واحتجازه في قسم الشرطة المختص.
محمد كمان تم التعدي عليه بالسب والضرب, لحد ما ظهر أمام نيابة أمن الدولة العليا على ذمة قضية كتائب حلوان, وتوجيه تهم كتير جداً أشهرها الانضمام لجماعة إرهابية, وقلب نظام الحكم بالدولة, وكمان تم التحفظ على لبس مدرسته الإماراتية كحرز في القضية.
A bolt from the blue, the next time the child went on vacation, his house was raided and searched. He was arrested and detained in the competent police station.
Mohamed was also assaulted with insults and beatings, until he appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution pending the Helwan Brigades case. He was accused of several charges, chiefly: Joining a terrorist group and overthrowing the State’ regime, His Emirati school uniform was kept as evidence in the case.
محمد محبوس من أكثر من 7 سنين كمل فيها طفولته وعدى فيها أهم سنوات شبابه, لمجرد إنه مشي في كام مظاهرة كرد فعل على مقتل اثنين من أصدقائه, مرتكبش أي عمل من أعمال الشغب أو العنف, وفي كل مرة بيتعرض على النيابة بيطلب انه يخرج ويرجع لمحل إقامته في الإمارات مع أسرته من تاني.
Mohamed is imprisoned for more than 7 years, during which his childhood was over and the most important years of his youth have passed, only because he went to several demonstrations in response to the murder of two of his friends. He did not commit any act of rioting or violence. Every time he was brought before the prosecution, he demanded his release to go back to his residence in the Emirates with his family.
محمد يستحق يخرج من دائرة العذاب ويكمل حياته ودراسته بعيد عن رحلة السجون. يستحق إنه يرجع ويلملم باقي سنوات شبابه اللي بتضيع كل يوم جوة السجن بسبب جريمة هو مرتكبهاش. محمد يستحق الحياة والحرية.
Mohamed deserves to get out of the cycle of torment and continue his life and studies away from prison. He deserves to come back and live the rest of his youth that is wasted every day in prison because of a crime he did not commit. Mohamed deserves life and freedom.
