Abdel Rahman was arrested when he was only 16 years old. At that time, he just started his freshman year in a vocational school. Suddenly, he found himself accused of joining a terrorist group. He was then listed in the case No. 1530 of 2019 – Supreme State Security, known in the media as the Joker Case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abdel Rahman returned to his normal life playing football with his friends, far from anything related to politics; until he was surprised by 7 members of the police forces raiding his house. Although they did not find any seizures or confiscations proving that he participated in demonstrations, he was arrested. Subsequently, he was accompanied to the National Security headquarters, and detained for a long time in which he was subjected to beating and electrocution, without any legal justification for his detention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The child remained forcibly disappeared for this long period, in violation of Article 36 of the Egyptian Criminal Procedure Code, which stipulates that the defendant should be brought before the prosecution within 24 hours of their arrest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, on February 25th, 2020, Abdel Rahman appeared before the Supreme State Security Prosecution accused of joining a terrorist group with the knowledge of its purposes. His name was listed in the Joker Case and he was transferred to Etaka police station in Suez governorate.
On July 22nd, 2021, he turned 18 years old. Instead of celebrating his birthday, he was transferred to Al Zagazig prison, which is known for its extreme maltreatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
