“I will bring you news as soon as the picture becomes clear, and now the picture is clear to the whole world, Shireen Abu Akleh: Jerusalem.”
بهذه الكلمات كانت تطل علينا فارسة الإعلام/ شيرين أبو عاقلة طوال السنوات السابقة من قلب فلسطين المحتلة، تنقل لنا الحقيقة التي تعمل حكومة الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بشكل مستمر على طمسها، حتى قال عنها الشعب الفلسطيني أنها لم تترك قرية أو مدينة أو مخيماً فلسطينياً إلا وأعدت عنه أو منه قصة صحفية.
With these words, the media knight Shireen Abu Akleh came into sight throughout the previous years from the heart of occupied Palestine, reporting to us the truth that the Israeli occupation government is constantly working to obliterate. The Palestinians bear witness that she did not leave a Palestinian village, city or camp without preparing on or from it a journalist story.
تدين مؤسسة بلادي مقتل الصحفية والإعلامية الفلسطينية شهيدة الواجب والحقيقة/ شيرين أبو عاقلة، والتي تعمل مراسلة لقناة الجزيرة الإخبارية صباح اليوم، وذلك أثناء تغطيتها عملية التوغل الإسرائيلي في مخيم جنين بالضفة الغربية المحتلة، وتطالب المجتمع الدولىّ بفتح تحقيق سريع وشفاف لمحاسبة حكومة الاحتلال الإسرائيليّ على الجريمة المرتكبة بحق السيدة شيرين.
Belady condemns the killing of the Palestinian journalist and media personality Shireen Abu Akleh, the martyr of duty and truth, who is a reporter in Al-Jazeera news channel. She was killed this morning while covering the Israeli incursion into Jenin camp in the occupied West Bank. We call on the international community to initiate a prompt and transparent investigation to hold the Israeli occupation government accountable for the perpetrated crime against Ms. Shireen.
ونشدد أن هذه الجريمة تشكل خرقاً للقانون الدَّولي والمواثيق والأعراف الدوليَّة المختصة بحماية حقوق الإنسان، والتي نصت بشكل لا يدع مجالاً للشك على وجوب حماية الصّحفيين/ات والعاملين/ات في وسائل الإعلام، ورغم ذلك أقدمت قوات الإحتلال الإسرائيلي وبدم بارد على ارتكاب جريمة نكراء قررت من خلالها طمس الحقيقة، ومنع الإعلام من أداء رسالته، وذلك برصاصة في وجه المراسلة شيرين أبو عاقلة أدت إلى مقتلها أثناء أداء واجبها المهني.
We stress that this crime constitutes a breach of international law, conventions, and norms related to the protection of human rights, which stipulate beyond any doubt that journalists and media workers must be protected. Despite that, the Israeli occupation forces, in cold blood, committed a heinous crime in order to obscure the truth and prevent the media from fulfilling its mission, using a bullet in the face of reporter Shireen Abu Akleh and leading to her death while performing her professional duty.
كما ترسل بلادي خالص التعازي لأسرة السيدة/ شيرين في فلسطين، ولكل الصحفيين/ات والعاملين/ات في الحقل الإعلاميّ في كل بقاع الوطن العربي والعالم.
Belady also sends its sincere condolences to the family of Ms. Shireen in Palestine and to all journalists and media workers in all parts of the Arab nation and the world.
