“بلادي تنعي وفاة السّجين علاء محمد السّلمي نتيجة ظروف احتجازٍ سيئة، دفعته للإضراب عن الطعام”
تنعي بلادي بوافر الحزن والأسى أسرة السجين علاء محمد السّلمي الذي توفي بتاريخ 1 نوفمبر 2022 عن عمر يناهز 47 سنة نتيجة ظروف الاحتجاز القاسية واللا إنسانية التي دفعته للدخول في إضراب عن الطعام استمر لمدة شهرين كاملين.
علاء محمد السّلمي من سكان حي القباري بالإسكندرية. متحصل على ليسانس من كلية الحقوق. قبض عليه في أغسطس 2014 على خلفية اتهامه في القضية رقم 610 لسنة 2015 حصر أمن الدولة العليا. والمعروفة إعلاميا بـ “خلية أبراج الضغط العالي”. وقد حُكم عليه في 30 إبريل 2019 بالسجن المؤبد.
تم ترحيله لسجن العقرب عقب إلقاء القبض عليه وعرضه على جهات الأمن الوطنيّ، وقد تمّ نقله مؤخراً إلى سجن بدر 3. لتستمر معاناته داخل السجن بسبب استمرار الانتهاكات، ومنعه من الزيارات والتريض إلى أن قرر الدخول في إضراب مفتوح عن الطعام حتى لفظ أنفاسه الأخيرة.
يذكر أن واقعة وفاة السّجين علاء هي ثاني حالة وفاة داخل سجن بدر 3 “حديث الإنشاء”. بعد وفاة السجين محمد عبدالحميد الصيفي ابن قرية ههيا محافظة الشرقية. عن عمر يناهز 61 عام إثر الإهمال الطبي المتعمد نظرا لمعاناته من مرض السرطان مما استوجب نقله إلى المستشفى وقد وافته المنيّة هناك.

Belady offers its deepest and most sincere condolences to the family of prisoner Alaa Mohamed El Salmi, who passed away on November 1st, 2022 at the age of 47 due to the harsh and inhumane conditions of detention that prompted him to go on a hunger strike for two months.
Alaa Mohamed El Salmi is a resident of El Qabary neighborhood in Alexandria. He holds a Bachelor of Law. He was arrested in August 2014 as he was charged in Case No. 610 of 2015 Supreme State Security, known in the media as the High-Voltage Tower Cell’. He was sentenced to life imprisonment on April 30th, 2019.
After his arrest, he was transferred to El Aqrab (Scorpion) Prison and then presented to National Security. He was recently transferred to Badr 3 Prison. His suffering continued in prison due to the constant violations. He was denied visitation and exercise, which prompted him to go on an open hunger strike until he passed away.
It is noted that the death of prisoner Alaa is the second death in Badr 3 Prison; a ‘recently built’ prison. The first death case was prisoner Mohamed Abdel Hamid El Saifi, son of Hihya village, Sharqia Governorate. He passed away at the age of 61 as a result of deliberate medical negligence. He suffered from cancer, which necessitated his transfer to the hospital where he died.
