Belady congratulates:
1- Ms. Bushra El Saied Mohamed Khattab
2- Karim Adel Saied Jumaa
following the decision of their release today, August 7th, 2023, based on the recommendations of the Presidential Pardon Committee.
It is worth mentioning that Ms. Bushra was arrested nearly a year ago – on October 3rd, 2022-, and was subjected to enforced disappearance for a week, to appear before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on October 10th, 2022, pending Case No. 1691 of 2022 Supreme State Security. She was charged with Joining an illegal group and spreading false news.
The child Karim was also arrested on November 20th, 2022, and was subjected to enforced disappearance for nearly 6 days, to appear before the Supreme State Security Prosecution on November 26th, 2022, pending Case No. 1635 of 2022 Supreme State Security, charged with Joining a terrorist group and spreading false news.
Belady calls on the Presidential Pardon Committee and the competent authorities to release the rest of the women and children who were involved in political cases, to stop the repressive violations committed against them, and to work on their reintegration into society.
